We enjoyed a very nice Easter weekend together as a family. On Saturday we took Howie and Henry to an egg hunt at the park next to our library. Howie was at the top of his age group this year, so he had no problem running around like crazy picking up eggs. Not that it mattered too much. There were actually so many eggs that all the kids filled up their buckets and got bored. It took a little encouragement from the parents to get the grass completely cleared.
On Sunday morning there were surprises waiting for Howie and Henry. Needless to say, Howie was very excited.
There were Matchbox cars. "The Eese bunny got me race cars!"
There were bubbles. "The Eese bunny got me bubbles so Daddy could blow bubbles me outside!"
There was a chocolate bunny and eggs filled with jelly beans (which Howie was nice enough to share--and not just the black ones. He gave me two purples and a red one.)
And there was a little snugglie giraffe blanket for Henry. He loves it! (Isn't he just too cute!)
After a wonderful musical Easter program at church, we dyed eggs. Howie put all the eggs in every single color at least four times each, so most of our eggs are a lovely dark purple color. Later, Howie helped me smash the eggs so we could peel them and eat them for dinner. We enjoyed some egg salad sandwiches, strawberry avocado salad, and carrot cake cupcakes. Yum!
It was a very nice weekend spent celebrating with family and remembering the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. We hope it was the same for you.
